As a storage technical leader within our Linux Development Group, you will lead a team of engineers developing and supporting a fault tolerant version of Linux on Stratus’ fault tolerant Intel architecture hardware concentrating in the area of storage. The job is 60% hands on product development (design, code, debug) and 40% technical leadership (requirements evaluation, technical review, sizing, project coordination, and project status reporting to management). Recent software development is a must as well as technical leadership and/or management.
The team’s work is focused on
- new development efforts to keep current with the latest Linux storage implementation and architecture,
- productizing Stratus’ fault tolerant Linux software,
- providing support to Stratus’ existing technology partners and customers, and
- engaging the Linux community to gain community acceptance of Stratus initiated kernel changes.
Stratus has made and continues to make modifications in Linux including lower, mid and upper level storage stack in support of PCI hot-plug support (surprise removal of devices), bug fixing, and hardening for fault tolerance.
Qualifications and Experience:
4+ years of software development with at least 3+ years in Linux or Unix based driver and/or kernel software development and exposure to C++ and/or Java based Linux or Unix application development. Previous successful technical leadership or managerial experience a necessity. Ability to switch gears and work on multiple problems simultaneously. Strong communication skills essential. Ability to work well within a team environment. Ability and interest in learning new technical skills is required.
Educational Background Required:
BS CS/EE required.
