Embedded Linux Developer
6 Month Contract to Hire (possibly open to direct hire)
80-90k
Carlsbad, CA 92011
Required Skills / Experience:
* Real-time Embedded Development
* Embedded Linux Development
* Embedded C Development
* Kernel and Driver level Linux Development
* Linux Network Stack Implementation
* Linux Application and System experience
* Knowledge of Network Based Communication Systems and Protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet, MAC)
* Knowledge of Internet Based Network Interface Protocols (IPv4, IPv6)
* Knowledge of wireless communication systems architecture (802.11 preferred)
* Experience with Oscilloscope, Function Generator, Meters, etc.
* General familiarity with digital design (can read a schematic)
* Assembly Language, Scripting Languages, Make Syntax, PowerPC, i386, MIPS, eCos
* Team-oriented, flexible and cooperative with respectful attitude with all team members and clients
* Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills, technical writing skills
* Must be self-motivating, have a strong sense of personal ownership and be able to work with minimal supervision
Responsibilities:
* Develops embedded systems software that operates on embedded Linux platforms
* Designs, develops and tests wireless network based communications systems and protocols using Linux platforms in C
* Communicates in writing and verbally with systems engineers, peer developers, vendors and customers.
* Assists in the development of product requirements, design specifications and product documentation
