|
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Software engineering position in the Solaris kernel group. Looking for kernel
generalists with an ability to solve a wide-range of complex problems in the
kernel. Initial emphasis will be both on technical contributions to the next
release of Solaris and on helping to create a new open source software
initiative. Job responsibilities will include Solaris subsystem design,
implementation, and maintenance as well as tool development/enhancements and
open source community building and participation. This position requires an
ability to work well within a larger team to affect change and deliver on
goals.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Excellent teamwork skills; ability to work with virtual teams
- Open source community participation
- Java programming
- Software development methodology
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- UNIX kernel internals
- Multi-threaded operating systems
- Memory management
- C Programming
- Bug triage and bugfixing
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Able to partner well with management, program management and marketing
to meet customer needs and respond to customer issues.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
3-5
FIELD OF STUDY:
Computer Science or related
MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATION:
BS or equivalent experience
