Embedded Software Engineer (Job Code KCDRS) Colorado Springs Position
Senior/Principal Software Engineer
(Embedded Linux Developer)
Primary Responsibilities:
* develop application and test code for an embedded Linux environment
* development to include Linux kernel modification/recompilation and device driver work
* integrate and test third party hardware on development platform
* code application software as needed (C)
* development to include socket programming, Inter Process Communications (IPC), and system logging
* work in an embedded Linux environment
* document and brief development team on work in progress/completed
* interact with vendors and/or customers
Experience/Skill Set/Knowledge:
* US Citizenship and background amenable to security clearance is a requirement.
* 5+ years experience C programming
* 7+ years experience UNIX/Linux software development (Linux preferable)
* 4+ years experience with integration in an embedded environment
* 1+ years hands on lab experience (o-scope, logic/bus analyzers)
* experience writing Board Support Packages (significant requirement) - esp. Linux based
* solid understanding of structured programming methodologies
* must be action oriented
* ability to work with minimum supervision and set priorities
* strong problem solving skills
* ability to synthesize requirements into a design
* proven documentation skills
* ability to effectively communicate issues and associated solutions options to management
* ability to identify, evaluate and learn new technologies rapidly and utilize that information in development
* experience with XML-RPC is a plus
* experience in digital signal processing is a plus
Education:
· B.S. or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
